Head in the Clouds

Spring Break came and went.  I spent the entire week at a Mission Trip to San Antonio and wore shorts and a t-shirt for 99.9% of the trip so the return to Dallas and normal clothes was a welcome change.

My husband's family joined us for the weekend when I returned from San Antonio and we had such a fun time with one another.  It's always a blast being a tourist in your own city and we visited some of our favorite spots in city including the Dallas Museum of Art, Klyde Warren Park and Bishop Arts Square.

All in all, we had an absolutely perfect weekend.

Unfortunately, I also caught a bit of what I believe to be a sinus infection or Allergies Gone Wild in my body.  Either way, it's been an uncomfortable week as I've tried to continue work as normal while my head feels so cloudy that I can't think straight, but I just keep trucking along hoping that it'll pass.

This dress was brought on a recent thrifting trip and it took some convincing from my sister to buy it because it has the appearance of being somewhat frumpy due to my lack of boobage.  However, it was perfect for a day like this.  The cotton in the dress and the looseness of the fabric helped keep me cool when it got warmer in the afternoon.  It'll end up being a staple in my wardrobe this Spring for sure.

Anyhow, hope your Spring Break was a good one!

Home is Where

My brother, dad, sister and I singing some Eisley.

My sister said I looked like an 80's rock star in this outfit and I'm perfectly ok with that.

I love my BWF.

The best days of my life seem to happen when their spent in San Antonio with close family and friends. It usually also involves good, fat food and good music.  Yesterday was amazing.

We went to church, survived lunch despite being rained on since we ate on the patio, my sister and my future sister in law went thrift shopping, we had our lovely friends over for dinner and we finished the night out by going to see Prometheus.

It was an extremely overwhelming day that was filled with such love and inspired me to appreciate all I have.  So I'm thankful to have spent some time in San Antonio with Austin's family, celebrating one of my best friends future marriage and enjoying time with my family as well.

Life is so very good on vacation and now that we're in Port Aransas, I can't wait to show you all the lovely pictures my sister Carisa took.  She is the extremely talented photographer who took all of these pictures and she'll be taking my outfit pictures for the week (against her will, of course.)

Para, Para, Paradise

So yesterday began our time with my family in San Antonio. My sister left to Dallas on and my brother was working all day yesterday so it was just Austin and I with the parentals, which was still super fun. I convinced (very sweetly of course) everyone to go with me to Goodwill. When I saw this gorgeous aisle, I was SO extremely excited.

I left the store with three super cute dresses after trying on ten. I felt bad making everyone wait on me but when my dad left the store with a nice sports coat and Austin left with some awesome glasses, my guilt quickly disappeared.

I also got my very first pattern and material to try out on my sewing machine! I can't even express how excited I am to sew. I'll definitely have to update on how the projects go, even if they don't go well.

We went to one of Austin's favorite restaurants last night, La Fogata, where we took a few pictures of my outfit, which was nothing really worth taking pictures of, but Austin did get some great pictures of my mom and I. Take a look...

After dinner, we went to see Sherlock Holmes, which was such a well done movie. I loved the first one and the second definitely did not disappoint. Then we went out with my brother after he had band practice and just hung out at HiTones. It was a pretty incredible day spent with the family and I could not be happier.

I hate that this break will soon be over. Oh well, I'll get over it.

Love,

Ani (AH KNEE)

A Wonderful Life, Indeed.

Here are my beautiful sisters, including Chase, who took these amazing pictures.

And this picture pretty much sums up how amazing my Christmas was.

We got to spend time with Austin's family and my own in San Antonio and it was a blast. I love both families so very much and am so thankful that we're all in the same city this year. Life is truly good and I have no complaints.

We're about to go take more photos with my sister so get ready for it!

Love,

Ani "Zuzu" B.
